Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Flik and Dot are now cleared by the doctors and are beyond ready for their new home!! They are sweet as can be! They have been to the eye specialist and they do have vision, but it is minimal. Their eyes do not interfere with their lives. They use the litter box, play with each other and can navigate all over the place. Don’t let their eyes scare you away! They are more adorable in person! They are estimated to be born mid May making them about 4 months old! They are ok with other cats, dogs and kids!

Please note our service area is the Pascack Valley within Bergen County, NJ, and its surrounding area. Please consider our distance when applying to adopt an animal as we personally deliver all adopted animals to their forever homes.

The first step in our process is to fill out our online application at our website, www.care4strays.org. Once received, it will be reviewed by one of our trained volunteers. If approved, we'll be in touch to arrange a "meet and greet" with the animal. All of our cats/dogs are in private foster homes.

More about this rescue

Since our founding in 1995 by Lynn Cancro, Caring About The Strays (C.A.T.S.), Inc. has worked to find “forever homes” for abandoned, unwanted, neglected, or abused companion animals.

All the animals in our care are in foster homes, which helps socialize the cat or dog and allows us to identify the best type of home for each animal to ensure a successful adoption. We also work to reduce the overpopulation of feral cats with our Trap-Neuter-Release program. In addition, our team also strives to educate the public about the importance of spaying or neutering their pets to decrease the number of unwanted pets.

C.A.T.S. is not a shelter in the traditional sense; we rely on private foster homes to house the many unwanted animals in our care.

Our Resale Shop (80 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood, NJ) helps fund our efforts. Please consider donating to our Resale Shop. Donations of brand-new and gently-used items are needed year-round and can be donated during shop hours Monday – Saturday 10:00 – 5:00.
