My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 **Available for Adoption: Oso** 🐾

Meet **Oso**, a handsome 4-year-old black Labrador with a heart full of love and a passion for the outdoors! Recently surrendered after shoulder surgery, Oso is now looking for his forever home. He thrives in nature—whether it's swimming, exploring, or simply basking in the fresh air. 🌲🐕

Oso adores people but is best suited for families with **older children**, as he's a little unsure around young ones. He gets along well with **smaller and submissive dogs**, but he can be selective, and does show some **food and toy aggression** toward other dogs. Don't worry—he’s perfectly fine with people handling his toys and food. 🦴

🏡 **Housebroken** and comfortable indoors, Oso prefers the great outdoors and will need a home with a **secure 6-foot fence** to safely enjoy his adventures. He's **neutered, vaccinated**, and handles grooming and vet visits like a champ!

If you’re looking for a loyal, outdoor-loving companion, **Oso is your guy**! Contact us at **(775) 623-6403** to schedule a meet-and-greet today! 🥰

More about this shelter

We have a small, rural, government-run Animal Control facility dedicated solely to dogs. This entails accepting both owner surrenders and stray animals found on the streets. Our team consists of four dedicated individuals: two full-time Animal Control Officers, one part-time Kennel Tech, and one part-time Animal Care Assistant. We have limited office staff, and our presence in the office may be intermittent. For the most reliable communication, please reach out by phone. While we do not have a voicemail system, calls will be forwarded to our dispatch center where you can leave a message. Additionally, all transactions are by appointment only.
