My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Wanda, the queen of my own world. I've seen it all, done it all, but there's always room for a new adventure. My life changed when I stumbled upon a mysterious amulet that gave me superpowers. With my newfound abilities, I fought off the neighborhood bullies, but alas, the amulet's power was temporary. I ended up here, in the shelter. I'm a bit crusty, a little eccentric, but aren't we all? I value my independence, but I also enjoy the occasional chin scratch. If you're looking for a mellow companion who prefers high perches, I might just be your gal. Let's write the next chapter of our superhero story together.More information? More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
