My name is Nicky!

Nicky is a smart, dear little dog who was brought up to Maryland from a shelter in South Carolina.  He is currently with a foster family, but this is a guy who deserves the best, which in this case means his own forever family.

He is currently living with another dog and enjoys playing with her A LOT. We think he would be fine with or without another dog as long as the owner continued to socialize him. He needs to be introduced carefully. He goes out and about on walks and does not bother with other dogs. 

Nicky is working on training at his foster’s home. He is very smart! He is heeling well, knows SIT, WAIT and CRATE.  He loves to play with toys,  enjoys fetch and likes snuffle mats.
He would be good with dog-savy children, ages 10 and up.

The perfect situation would be either an active family with older children, a person or older couple living in a home with a fenced yard.  Nicky loves to be active and busy so an adopter who will play with him, and enjoys walking, hiking , and training is ideal.  A female owner would be good - he seems to prefer females. Someone who would NEVER give him up.
