Meet Pearl Jam AKA P.J.!

P.J. was rescued from a hoarding situation by another rescue and we offered to help him find a home.

P.J. is your typical happy go lucky, sweet Beagle/Bassett mix boy! He is friendly with all people and MOST other dogs (as long as they don’t try to eat his food). He is around 2-3 years old and weighs 30 pounds. He is a cute “low rider”!

He is neutered, current on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and current on heartworm preventative. He has done pretty well with crate training, he just needs to go outside to potty regularly until he settles in.

Pearl Jam either needs to have a secure fenced in yard to play/potty in (not to live in) OR someone willing to walk him several times a day.

He seems like the type that would be fine with or without another dog. P.J. prefers the bigger dogs here. He loves being near his people and will let you know when he’s done being alone too! lol Best in a home without cats, as he occasionally will chase. He is good with kids over the age of 10. Small kids make him nervous.

The adoption fee is $175 to an approved and loving home. All vet records will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption.

Once a pet is adopted from our rescue, they MUST be returned to us, if you cannot keep them. If you plan on not keeping them their whole lives, please do not apply.

FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue is a small home-based sanctuary and rescue for dogs (primarily) near the Chattanooga, TN area. All pets that come here, are fully vetted before being placed into loving homes. We do NOT have a public shelter. To meet our pets, you must have an approved application on file and we will bring them to your home, or meet in 1 of our few meeting spaces.

More about this rescue

Established in 2011, FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue is a privately run rescue.

All of our sanctuary/rescue pets have come from situations such as being on death row at shelters, owners who can no longer keep them, or even rescued from heartbreaking situations.

Each rescued pet is kept in foster homes until a FURever home is found. If no home can be found, they become a sanctuary pet. Every pet is spayed/neutered (if of age), current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and dogs are heartworm tested, (if the dog is over 6 months) prior to adoption.

The adoption process requires an adoption application. If the application looks good, we will contact your veterinarian for a reference (if applicable). If that checks out, we will schedule a home check (for the safety of our rescues). If local, we will come to your home. If you are not local, we will need several pictures and/or a video of your home/yard to complete the home check. Finally, if approved, you will fill out an adoption contract and pay the pets set adoption fee (which varies).

FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue has adopted out hundreds of animals since we began. We have a professional working relationship as a rescue with many other area rescues, vets, shelters and spay/neuter clinics in the area.
