My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Skylar!

Skylar is a beautiful German Shepherd-Cattle Dog mix, estimated to be around 3 to 4 years old. This sweet girl has come a long way since she was rescued from the shelter, where she faced the risk of being euthanized. When found, Skylar was scared, underweight, and abandoned on the streets, but she’s shown incredible resilience and love as she’s adjusted in her foster home.

Skylar is now crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained. She loves rolling in the grass, playing with other dogs, and zipping around the backyard. She's a bright pup who enjoys training sessions, especially when treats are involved! Skylar is loyal and smart and behaves like a champ, even using the doggy door all on her own. At night, she sleeps soundly in her crate, though sometimes she gets to snuggle in the bed when foster dad is out of town.

Skylar loves chewing on her toys and spending time with her humans. She’s ready to find her forever family where she can be safe, happy, and loved for the rest of her life. Could that be with you? 🐾 Please email mullenauxclaire@gmail.com for an application.

Skylar is a courtesy post through Valley Dogs Rescue.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

At Valley Dogs we make every effort to place the right animal in the right home. To aid in this goal, we use trained Adoption Consultants to help you select the best match for your lifestyle. You will meet with an Adoption Consultant and discuss your lifestyle, activity level, expectations, likes/dislikes, and past experiences with animals. Your consultant will then recommend the best match for your family and your lifestyle.

Go meet their pets

We do not own a kennel / shelter type facility. In most cases, we believe one of the effective and successful ways to match families and pets is to foster them in our own homes. Fostering dogs allows us to help train the dogs to have good doggie manners and allows us to learn about the dog's personality and character. Ultimately allowing us to give potential adopters complete information on the pet's behavior and how well he / she will fit with a family and lifestyle. Unfortunately, when we are not able to find the most appropriate foster home, we will on occasion utilize a private kennel on a case by case basis.
