My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A staff member says this about me: " Zakeelah is my overall fav. She always perks up when I come to see her. She definitely has a personality on her. In her kennel, she's very quiet and really chill. She does seem to be potty trained unless I forget to take her outside, which is totally fine. I always call her my baby hippo because of how adorably chunky she is. When she's outside, she's so full of life. She'll run circles around you with her zoomies. I've also discovered she loves butt scratches and will constantly demand them by her pressing her back end up against you. She is my overall Staff Favorite."

Zakeelah went on a field trip! "I took my staff favorite, Zakeelah for a day out on the town. She immediately jumped straight into the car with no hesitation. She is obsessed with sticking her head out the window and letting the cool breeze flow through her fur. We first took a troll around the neighborhood, where she met another dog. She was a bit barrier reactive at first, but was eager to speak. She was super friendly and offered a tail wag then proceeded on our walk. We took a trip to the Bass Pro Pyramid where she met all walks of life. She met younger children, older people, a duck, and the employees who fell in love with her. She had to make herself known when she saw a new person and had to greet them. She definitely soaked in all the attention she could get. On the car ride back, she was definitely due for a nap and slept all the way back. It was a delight to get her out for a few hours."

Behavioral
On 10/9/24 Zakeelah attended playgroup. She was friendly and social, but gave good corrections when needed. She tolerated other dogs well, but sometimes acted as the "fun police" when pets engaged in rowdy play.

Zakeelah attended playgroup 10/23/24. She was somewhat friendly and social, but often was dominant with other dogs and acted as the "fun police" with mutual rowdy play.
