My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

AN ACTIVE & PLAYFUL GIRL:  Approx. 10 – 11 months old / Approx. 30 lbs. & growing

Hi, my name is Cecelia!  I came to the Mostly Mutts family when they rescued me from animal control.  I spent about 2 weeks in a temp. foster home and had lots of fun!  The volunteers are taking great care of me, and now I hear that I am ready to meet my new family and live my ‘happily ever after’.  I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program where I had a great time and learned a lot, too!  Come meet me soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was very friendly with them.  I also enjoyed playing with the dogs in my temp. foster home, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I recently met a boy and girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and was a bit all over them as I was so excited.  I also met a boy and girl aged 5 and 8 in my temp. foster home and I liked them, but I do tend to give puppy nibbles.  Perhaps kids 10+ would be best since I’m an active puppy – let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a happy and playful girl who exudes energy and charm.  My whole body wags with joy when I get to spend time with the volunteers.  My sweet, friendly demeanor and energetic personality are a great fit for a family who will spend time with me as we have wonderful adventures together.  In my temp. foster home, I did steal a few socks and a blanket to chew on, so just keep an eye on me around the laundry.  Please give me good daily exercise, games, and chew toys to keep my energy focused in the right direction.  I alert bark at new noises or people coming into the room, but respond well to the ‘leave it’ command.   I got to go on a daytrip recently, did great in the car and enjoyed walking around a nice quiet nature park, sniffing all the things and happily watching all the squirrels.  / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University, where I am learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘drop it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also accept nice strangers without jumping.  I am about 70% consistent on the ‘leave it’ and ‘come’ commands when I am alerting to a new noise or someone coming into the room.  Let’s keep working on my focus together.  I’m polishing my leash manners, as right now I think the leash is a play toy.  I am easily distracted with a treat though – lol.  Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts but I didn’t love being in a crate in my foster home. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule and in my foster home I had about 1 accident per day.  I had excellent potty manners in the prison/foster training program, so hopefully this will be the case once I settle in my new home.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to be with people, as evidenced by my happy walk to the bath spa, where I did a perfect, calm sit for my bath – soaking up the attention.  I like treats, too. The play yard at the shelter is awesome, and I enjoy running around and having fun there.  I’d benefit from a fenced yard in my new home, where I can do the same with you. After a day of playing, I love to snuggle up to my people and relax. / I don’t like walking in areas that have heavy traffic or too many crowds.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a great home with an active and loving furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
