Razzle is a 7 month old puppy that was born with his siblings in rescue. He has the most happy and loving personality. He is affectionate, loves to cuddle, is eager to please and he learns very quickly. He is currently housebroken, crate trained and knows how to use a doggy door. He also walks nicely on a leash, knows sit and loves giving eye contact for things he wants.
At 8 weeks old, we found out he had megaesophagus. He was regurgitating and he was skinny so we took him to a specialist where he was diagnosed with ME. With the help of the vet and the Upright Canine Brigade support group, Razzle is not only been stable but he is now thriving.
Although it took a little trial and error to find what works for Razzle we are happy that his care is not hard. 5 easy steps and this beautiful boy is gaining weight and sooo happy.
1. He must eat upright in his Bailey chair which will come with his adoption and he must stay there for 20 minutes afterwards. He is currently eating 1 1/2 cans of Kirkland canned dog food twice daily.
2. He cannot drink water so he eats Knox blocks after meals. (Easy to make with Knox Gelatin)
3. With each meal Razzle gets sildenafil. This helps the muscles in his esophagus keep his food in his stomach.
4. Following each meal, Razzle is kept quiet for about an hour before he can play and run around.
5. When Razzle is in his crate he wears a neck hug which will come with his adoption.
With just a little extra care, Razzle will make an excellent companion for any family.
All of our adoptions come with a session with our trainer.
