Meet Gemini, a 6-year-old, 63-pound Husky-Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his beautiful, expressive eyes. Gemini is a sensitive, loyal companion who absolutely loves people and thrives in a home where he can be part of the family. He’s housebroken and has a moderate energy level, making him the perfect balance of playful and laid-back.
Though Gemini is a wonderful dog, he’s not suited for a home with cats or small dogs due to his prey drive. Adopted as a puppy in 2018, Gemini’s journey took an unexpected turn when we received a call from animal control in New Jersey in August 2024, informing us that he had been found as a stray.
When Gemini came back to us, he had a tumor on his toe. Thanks to excellent medical care, his toe was amputated, and the biopsy confirmed the tumor was isolated to that spot with clear margins. Now fully healed, Gemini is ready to find his forever home.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who’s been through a lot but is ready to love again, Gemini is your guy!

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 2,600 dogs and cats since 2015.
PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.
Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.
We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.
Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
