Meet Buccee! As you can tell by his photos, he is an adorable little guy! He is the sweetest, most cuddly kitten and ready to be his human`s best friend and lap kitty.
Buccee came to the shelter in pretty rough condition. Apparently he had been living outdoors and probably would have only survived a short while longer if a caring human hadn’t rescued him. He was very underweight, and had severe cases of intestinal parasites and ear mites. He is on the mend now and so energetic and excited about life!
While Buccee is very proud of his beautiful white coat and stunning blue eyes, these features are also frequently associated with deafness. Buccee is no exception. Even though his hearing is very limited at best, he is learning rapidly to compensate with his other senses and otherwise function as a normal cat. But this also means that he should never be allowed outdoors unattended where he may not be aware of a predator approaching and that his indoor companions be respectful of his limitation, especially as he learns to navigate his surroundings.
If you are ready to provide a safe, interesting home for a beautiful kitten, and only need cuddles and affection in return, Buccee may be the perfect companion for you.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
