Lizzie Beth is a beautiful, lanky cream colored lab mix that weighs approximately 38lbs. She is looking for a very patient adopter as she is very timid and shy around people. We are not sure if she suffered some abuse and/or neglect. She's gaining more courage and trust in humans and her surroundings daily but this is still a work in progress! For example, she darts away from me when I approach her to pet her. She acts like she wants to be loved but is nervous to surrender. So she keeps her guard up. When I catch her and put her on the couch with me, she is stiff at first and then will loosen up and even lift her leg for more belly rubs. Lizzie is clean and very quiet in the crate and working hard on potty training. She is also learning how to be a dog! She is playing with her foster siblings and is very submissive with other dogs and just a genuinely sweet soul. Thus far, she just ignores the resident cat. Lizzie would do best in a fenced yard as she still needs to work on leash training and more socialization. She can be timid to come back in the house when I am standing at the door so I have to walk away for her to come in. She would also benefit from basic training.
Are you willing to teach Lizzie what it means to be loved? If so, submit an application. She deserves a loving forever home! In time, I know she will be the best version of herself!
