My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ABOUT MAGS
Although she hasn't been with us long, Mags quickly became a volunteer favorite for her gorgeous looks and playful personality! Mags is a 9-month-old shepherd mix with lots of love to give! She came to HAP from a local shelter partner when they no longer had space for her. Mags already knows basic commands, walks well with a harness, and is learning to be gentle during play. She has done well meeting other dogs on walks too. While some pups may feel down at the shelter, Mags is happy to make new friends! She loves all people, greeting everyone with a big hug or leaning her butt into you for pets. Mags has participated in our Doggy Day Out program, check out what our volunteers had to say about their days together:

"We got to take mags out to the Art on the Green Fair and it was so much fun! Mags only wanted to lay in the grass when we got out of the car but quickly warmed up when she was around people. She gave so many hugs and kisses to everyone around. She did pull quite a bit, especially around other dogs but it was all because of how excited she was to be around everyone! Lovely and beautiful dog!" - Gabriella

"I had so much fun hanging out with Mags today! She is such a cuddle bug and will make a great family dog. We hung out at my house with my roommates and then played fetch in the yard. She is so silly we loved her energy!" - Abigayle

**Mags would do best in a home without cats or small animals!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
