My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Roxie, a 5-year-old female Newfoundland mix with a heart as big as her fluffy coat! Roxie is good with older kids but prefers to be the only animal in the home. She is fully house-trained and signals when she needs to go out with a bark. Roxie is a smart girl who knows several commands, including "sit," "shake," "speak," and "down." While she was previously crated when her owners were away, Roxie is loose in the home overnight. She’s ready to find her forever family! Interested in meeting Roxie? Apply at ITVrescue.org.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
