A wonderful companion!
Hi! I’m Neiman, and I’m an 8-year-old neutered Doodle, weighing in at 14 pounds. I was found abandoned in a home in Los Angeles with a group of other doggies. Despite my ruff past, though, I’m just grateful for a second chance and ready for a fresh start!
I’m told that I’m a really sweet boy who has a mellow and easy-going demeanor. I love being around my humans, and my favorite activities include cuddling, taking naps, being outside, going on walks, and getting lots of treats. I am great around children and doggie friends of all sizes.
My training is coming along well. I’m almost fully potty trained, with accidents happening occasionally. I also do just fine inside a crate and while on a leash. I’m not the destructive type and can be left outside the crate, too, without any issues. Additionally, I dont lov eto be alone at home, and settle down after a few minutes of complaint barking in the crate. But I'd be way happier if I had a remote work friend.
As far as my health goes, I’ve got a couple issues that I’m dealing with. I have mild degenerative valve disease, which is a common heart disease that causes my mitral and tricuspid valves to leak backwards to a small degree. As a result, I have a heart murmur which needs to be monitored by a cardiologist to ensure there is no heart enlargement or congestive heart failure (fluid in the lungs) down the road. But fear not! I’m not in any pain, and I’m not on any heart medication at this time. I also am dealing with a dental issue. Once being scooped up by TAP, I received a full dental cleaning and was found to have a fractured mandible. I am currently taking pain medication and sedatives to help with the healing process, along with facilitating the wearing of a loose nylon muzzle that I need to keep on at all times (until November).
I think I’d do great in a home with or without kids and/or doggie siblings. Because I like companionship, I’d prefer for my humans to be home more often than not, so a work-from-home type of arrangement would be ideal. Other than that, plenty of love and attention will make me be my best self!
My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.
