Goodness gracious! It’s hard to find the words to adequately describe this saint of a dog, but I’ll try. You’ve never met a sweeter pup in your entire life! This I’m sure! This darling girl we named Sailor was previously named Daphne at FWACC. (A0056598467) Sweet Sailor is a 6-7 month old pup (as of 9.23.2024) who was found as a stray, super thin, wondering the streets of Fort Worth all alone. Due to record over crowding, this sweet girl was added to the euthanasia list because she was out of time and they were out of space. She caught our attention because the number of staff and volunteers that were pleading for her to be saved. No one could fathom a dog like her being put down. She was loved by every single person who encountered her. That’s no surprise though. She’s a dream. This sweetheart lives in a foster home with 4 bully foster siblings, one grumpy cat, and 2 children (ages 5 & 12). Would you believe she gets along with everyone famously?! She even ignores the cat. She is so incredibly accommodating to each persons and critters play style and will rise to the occasion every single time. Then she’ll sleep the day away. This girl is a world class napper. It feels odd to say this about such a young dog, but she is indeed low to medium energy. She is so easy to have around. She is so incredibly young and new to house living, but she has NEVER had an accident in the house. We still can’t believe it! I truly can’t find anything remotely negative to share about this precious angel baby. A few days after picking her up from the shelter, I was gushing to a dear friend about the sweet as sugar, little miss Sailor. I wrote the message below after telling her that she maybe one of my top favorites that we’ve had the pleasure of fostering. She stopped me and told me I had to use that description in my summary… So here we go… “Sailor is just so unassuming and grateful. It feels so weird to say a dog is humble, but it’s as if everything I give her, she’s like, “Are you sure you meant that for me? I don’t mind if you give it to someone else.” She’s the most gentle, affectionate, loving dog that will come the second you call her and will lay down next to you as soon as you stop scratching her. She’s so quiet and has the most calming, peaceful, but incredibly joyful disposition. She flips over at your feet if you’re doing something and you stop to pet her. She’s just the sweetest baby.” Whoever is fortunate enough to add Sailor to their family is going to be head over heels for this little darling. It’s impossible to not.
