My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Conklin, the sassy and adventurous feline who's ready to steal your heart! This charming boy was found as a stray, leaving us with a bit of mystery about his past, but we know one thing for sure: he prefers to be the solo star of his own show. Conklin is not a fan of sharing his space with other cats, so he's looking for a forever home where he can reign as the one and only kitty.

With a personality as vibrant as his striking looks, Conklin is super chatty and always eager to engage with his human companions. Whether he's joining you for a movie night or simply wanting to be part of the action, this friendly boy will make sure you never feel alone. He thrives on human interaction and is sure to bring joy and laughter to your home.

To keep everyone safe and happy, it's best for Conklin to be an indoor-only cat. If you're looking for a playful and loving companion who will fill your days with conversation and affection, Conklin is your guy! The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
