My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jelly Roll is one-in-million! A gentle, kid-adoring, water-obsessed, dream-on-leash beefcake with a gorgeous almost leopard like pattern. I personally nominate him to be the bully-ambassador for anyone who thinks they are anything other than amazing. In one day I watched literally every type of person, young to old, sophisticated, blue-collar, delicate, you name it, they were immediately obsessed! Of course his looks are eye catching but its the calm energy and absolute warm hello he gives any and everyone. Something about his simple presence feels like a warm hug and a cozy cardigan. Take a look then come back to read more. Copy and paste into your browser- https://youtu.be/6Rcc5czg1v8

He is a perfect lover-boy! Sure, he may need a boost to get on the couch sometimes but the snuggles are worth the effort of helping 75 lbs of love. Connection comes fast and easy with him, making falling in love almost impossible to avoid.

We estimate Jelly Roll to be about 3 years old and is pretty much definitely some kind of American pocket bully mix. With rescue, age and breed are something we can only make an educated guess on but his personality doesn’t leave us guessing- he is the best boy! This is one of those dogs that practically runs on affection and glowing adoration of people. He wants love and affection and your companionship, everything else is big ol’ bonus. Thanks to his calm nature and leash skills, Jelly Roll is perfectly suited for apartment or home life. He is great on leash and passes other dogs with ease, though his friendliness means he is going to slow down on occasion to try and meet passing friends. And the people want to pet him! He is magnetic! But that all means potty breaks and walks around the block will be a treat for you, him, and your neighbors. If you have a home with a yard, this guy will be the best addition! A little patch of grass, a spot of sun, maybe a kiddie pool to splash around in, and the chance to wander around with you is his dream life. From what we have seen, his age comes with all the things a dog lover wants- a house and crate trained, nap-connoisseur. If he is already this happy, we can only imagine how he is going to flourish when he knows he is home and has a person of his very own.

Jelly Roll could easily live with another dog, he was great with every dog he met, from high energy young ones to the slow and steady. The best fit would be a dog with similar stamina to his, you know the type- a little play but a lot of lazy, he is also up for the role of your one-and-only. No feline friends for him though, we can’t be sure he wouldn’t try to chase the cat out of curiosity or play but it would be chaos either way..

So if you are ready for an amazing, one-of-a-kind, adoring, gorgeous, easy-going, lovable, family man beef-cake, Jelly Roll is an amazing boy who fits that criteria beautifully!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
