Dixie is a 1yo female hound/lab mix who was rescued from a gas station in MS where she had been abandoned. Friendly, well-socialized, happy young dog! If you look closely at her photos, you’ll see a little bit of “beagle” in her face. High activity level outside, loves to romp outside with the family’s dog and settles down quickly in the house with good house manners. Loves other dogs, great with kids (see video), not cat tested. Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands. Loves to be with her people. Estimated DOB is 8-1-23. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 35 pounds. Dixie is a happy young hound mix who will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family with kids.

Good Dog Rescue is an all-breed rescue group headquartered in the South. Our group is comprised of volunteers all over the Southeast who love dogs and want to help those that end up homeless through no fault of their own. Loyal and loving dogs turn up every day in Southern shelters, as owners turn them in or they’re found roaming the streets after being dumped. To the best of our abilities, we evaluate all of our Good Dogs’ temperament and suitability for living with other dogs, cats, and children. A dog’s health is checked, and we make sure they are up-to-date on all shots and are spayed or neutered. Then, we place them in loving foster homes until they find their very own family. Our goal is to meet the needs of each dog as an individual and to assure proper placement in a loving forever home.
