My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie is a beautiful, sweet cat who came to us along with her sister Chloe when their owner faced unfortunate circumstances. Though she may seem a little shy at first, Sophie has a heart full of love just waiting to bloom! All it takes is a little patience and your gentle presence, and you'll soon see her warm up, purring and nudging for more attention.

Once she trusts you, Sophie will be your shadow, always by your side, eager for snuggles and pets. Whether you're lounging on the couch or working from home, Sophie will be there, ready to share her love. She's the kind of cat that forms a deep bond, making her a loyal companion for life.

If you're looking for a gentle soul who will fill your days with love and affection, Sophie is ready to be your new best friend. With her by your side, every moment will feel a little brighter!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
