For The Cats' Sake

 MONET is one of natures works of art, with his pale orange fur bordering on white, and pale blue eyes. This four year old flame point was adopted from us as a kitten and returned with his housemates due to their cat daddy passing tragically. MONET is loving, mellow and gets along with other cats. He is a calm and affectionate cat and has been an inside only kitty. He's used to living with other cats, so we think he needs a friend, which of course we can provide if needed

We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation to our group. On average, we spend at least $150 to cover foster care, testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and any vet care/medicine that is needed. We ask that you cover as much of the $150 as you can afford, and set a minimum donation at $80. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more cats. We are flexible also with cost if you are adopting multiples or barn cats.

Submit Application

Fill out our online application, and we'll call to find out what type of kitty you are interested in, and schedule a visit.

2.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Cats or kittens are generally viewed at our main foster location Flint Hill, when they are ready for adoption, so you willhave a good choice

3.
Home Check

We will deliver your kitty to you and do a basic home check at that time. All vet records will be provided then and the contract signed.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with an application which includes vet references and landlord permission for renters. Potential adopters are encouraged to visit the cats/kittens in their foster homes so they see them in a comfortable situation. In many instances a volunteer will deliver the cat/kitten to their new home to assist the family in preparing their home getting the adoption off to a good start. There are no set fees, we request a donation.

For The Cats' Sake was founded in 2014 in response to a need for TNR in Rappahannock County, Virginia. Since that time, we have encountered many situations where there is no place for the cats to be returned. In other instances the cats are friendly or there are momma cats too pregnant to be spayed, or young kittens that are adoptable, but need socialization and foster care. Currently we have about 40 cats and kittens in foster care being prepared for adoption. All felines are Up to Date on vaccinations and tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Depending on age at time of adoption, they are also Spayed/Neutered.
