My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocco is a charming 2-year-old German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix weighing in at 40 pounds - ready to steal your heart. Hailing from Kentucky and having recently made the trip to NJ, this sweet boy is all about love and attention. With his friendly personality and playful spirit, Rocco is the perfect companion for anyone looking to add some joy to their life.

Rocco thrives on human interaction and is eager to be by your side, whether you’re going for a walk or just relaxing at home. This quiet boy is looking for a loving family that can provide him with plenty of snuggles and playtime. He's housetrained and up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. He's very active at first but once Rocco settles down, he's very relaxed and gentle.

Rocco does great with other dogs, and adores being in the car. He is working on his leash skills but loves being out and about. To help adjust to leash walking in a new environment and as an added bonus, we are offering a  training package with Rocco. He does jump and pull since he's not very familiar with walking on a leash but is smart and can surely be taught quickly. A fenced-in yard is also recommended.

If you’re ready to welcome this wonderful pup into your life, apply for adoption at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application. Rocco can’t wait to meet you.

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
