My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pixie is a 3-year-old, 55-pound Pit mix with a heart of gold. Despite her rough past and lack of proper care, she remains incredibly sweet and loving. Her resilience and gentle nature make her a wonderful companion, and she's ready to share all the love she's been holding onto with her forever family.

Pixie was found as a stray roaming with several other dogs, completely neglected and suffering. She lost most of her fur due to years of neglect.  When we saw her we knew we had to step in and give her the chance she deserves. Her skin is already healing in a short time with care.

Pixie is so affectionate and very eager to please.  She knows some basic commands already. Loves children of all ages, even toddlers. Pixie also seems to be fine around cats and loves her fellow canine pals.

Pixie just arrived in NJ this weekend and needs a foster or adopter to come forward asap.  Her condition is not at all contagious and she is on the road to recovery with medication and a proper diet.  Are you the savior Pixie needs?

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
