My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sheila is a stunning 5-6 year old Black Mouth Cur with the most adorable head wrinkles you’ll ever see. At 50-55 lbs, she’s the perfect blend of playful energy and snuggly affection. Sheila’s journey began under challenging circumstances—found emaciated and abandoned in a crate under a porch in Kentucky. But thanks to the love and care of her amazing foster family, she’s made an incredible transformation and is now ready to find her forever home.

Sheila is the definition of a gentle, loving companion. She’s great with kids and other dogs, making her a perfect addition to any family. While she still enjoys playtime, she’s equally happy curling up for a cozy nap on your lap, especially during thunderstorms when she’ll snuggle close for comfort. Sheila is as affectionate as they come and will fill your home with warmth and joy.

Sheila is scheduled to arrive on 9/14 and will come spayed and fully vetted. Get ready to fall in love with this sweet, resilient girl who’s eager to give and receive all the love she deserves. Don’t miss out on the chance to make Sheila a part of your life—she’s ready to be your new best friend. Apply for adoption today at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application.

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
