My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dodger is a gentle and affectionate Boxer who is ready to share his heart with a loving family of his own. Weighing around 70 pounds, this black and white sweetheart radiates warmth and charm, instantly drawing people in with his soulful eyes.

Despite his size, Dodger is a tender spirit, submissive with other dogs and curious about birds, always respectful of their space. He can be a bit fearful at times, especially around smaller dogs, but his loving nature shines through in every interaction. Dodger enjoys a calm lifestyle, often seeking out cozy spots to snuggle close to his human companions.

His heart yearns for connection; he eagerly anticipates mealtimes, naps, car rides and everything he can do to interact with his humans.  At night, Dodger finds solace sleeping beside his humans and fellow furry friends, creating a warm and loving atmosphere that he cherishes. Though he can be vocal (barks) when left alone.

This sweet boy longs for an adoptive home filled with compassion—ideally an individual who is retired or works from home, enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking as much as they enjoy staying home for cuddle time. Dodger’s loving spirit makes him the perfect best boy side kick for anyone willing to offer the affection he so deeply craves.

More about this rescue

Northwest Boxer Rescue (NWBR) believes that every boxer deserves a chance to live a happy life in a loving home. Abandoned or homeless Boxers will always find shelter, medical care, and ultimately a new home through the efforts of NWBR. By working with committed volunteers and local veterinarians we are able to rescue boxers every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them perfect loving forever homes. Working in conjunction with city and county groups, NWBR strives to educate the public and help end animal overpopulation and needless suffering. The commitment to share the love of Boxers is never ending.

We never discriminate on the basis of health or age. Our animals are evaluated, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive any necessary medical treatment before they are placed in carefully screened homes.
