UPDATE 11/12/24: Here is what his foster mom has to say:
Splash is one amazing boy. He is very playful and loves to run around with his canine foster siblings in the fenced in yard. He is gentle with children of all ages and doesn't seem to mind cats either. Splash is house, crate and potty trained, great in the car, loves couch cuddles or just follow you around in the house. He is overall a well rounded dude and such a joy to have around. Splash is a bit scared of new things and noises so he will need more socialization in public. He walks very well on the leash and loves to go to places otherwise. His dad's DNA of a Treeing Walking Coonhound definitely shines through although his mom was 100% Pit Bull. He has inherited the best of both breeds. Did I say that he has the softest fur ever? Whoever ends up adopting Splash will be one lucky family.
UPDATE 9/21/24: Splash was returned to our rescue to no fault of his own. He is house and crate trained, fantastic in the car and gets along well with other dogs. More information will be available as he settles into his foster home.
Splash is a puppy with the best “pet me puppy dog eyes”. He will happily play outside or with his canine foster siblings then curl up with his foster mom to nap. She tells us if you rub behind his ears, you’ll be sure to put Splash to sleep.
Splash is highly food motivated and uses his sense of smell to his advantage. He will do anything for peanut butter. Splash knows how to sit and is crate trained. He will fuss at first but quickly calms down.
Splash is good with children. His foster home does have a cat and he sometimes needs reminders to be gentle.

Minimum requirements for adopting from Bobbie’s Pit Bull Rescue & Sanctuary are:
Demonstrated responsible dog ownership, and primary care of a dog to include spay/neuter of current family pets. Also, all pets must be up to date on vaccinations and (dogs) heartworm tested and on preventative.
Demonstrated financial stability and must be at least 21 years of age.
Proof of home owners insurance that covers the bully breed. If you rent, we require a letter from your landlord giving you permission to keep a bully breed on the premises and you must have Renter's Insurance that covers the breed. Please note that many insurance companies will cancel your homeowner’s policy if you own a bully breed. It is the adopter's responsibility to check with his or her carrier to ensure coverage will remain in place.
While we do not require a fenced yard we strongly prefer yards that are fenced in by chain link, wrought iron or privacy fencing. Homes with no fences will be evaluated to make sure that the dog has enough opportunities during the day to exercise. Invisible fencing is not acceptable.
Adoption Policy
We are happy to hear from people interested in giving one of our wonderful dogs a responsible, lifelong home. Bully breeds become deeply attached and devoted to their families. Our animals are adopted as inside family pets only. If you feel you may not truly enjoy having a dog's constant companionship, enjoy having him/her sleep in your bedroom at night and share your activities by day, then you may be happier with a breed less oriented to human companionship.
Much like toddlers, puppies cannot go all day long in a crate and need to be let out often to receive physical exercise and mental stimulation. So as a general rule, preference is given to homes where they will have multiple breaks during the day. Homes where puppies are crated 6+ hours Monday thru Friday without breaks are not acceptable.
Puppies 0-12 months are required to attend Daycare at least once a week for socialization purposes, no exceptions.
Every dog must be enrolled in Obedience Training courses within 30 days after final adoption, no exceptions.
No out of State adoptions except of MD and DC. However, exceptions can apply under special circumstances.
The adopter must agree to stay in close contact with BPRS for the next 180 days after adoption to make sure that the adopted dog is adjusting well. This includes additional home visits if we deem necessary to help with adjustment issues. We want to make sure that the adoption is a success for both, adopter and dog. BPRS is there with you all the way.
Our adoption fees are:
· $150 for dogs directly out of a shelter
· $200 for dogs 6 months and older
· $350 for puppies 0 months to 6 months
· $150 for senior (age of 7 and up) or special needs dogs, but may have a reduced or waved adoption fee based on special circumstances.
We are a Not for Profit organization. Every cent of the adoption fee literally goes to help the dogs, the majority goes towards medical expenses. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated and on heartworm/flea and tick preventatives: no exceptions.
If you are unable to keep your adopted dog for any reason he/she MUST be returned to BPRS.
A ll applicants are required to submit an online application to be considered for one of our animals.
All information is kept strictly confidential.
