My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Rajah is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with her current owner in San Rafael. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.

Stunningly beautiful Rajah is described by her owner as a sweet, shy, playful Bengal. She is good with mannered respectful children and lives in a family with school aged children. She enjoys 100% supervised backyard outdoor time. Rajah has never been outdoors on her own, nor should she ever be.

She lived several years with her brother who was very aggressive toward her. Rajah will prefer, and do best, being an only cat. She uses scratchings posts, likes to climb on cat trees and rest/sleep in high places. Rajah enjoys spending time by herself in quiet spaces. We think this self isolating habit developed as a result of retreating from her aggressive brother's instigation to play. He played too rough, as Bengals often do. This was not to Rajah's liking. Her brother, Llantu, was successfully re-homed about 6 months ago where he is happily doing well. Rajah continues to seem unhappy as she still retreats to her safe places.

Rajah Is food motivated and currently doing well on a balanced raw diet. She had a good Vet checkup 6 months ago. She is healthy and requires no medication. There was evidence of some dental plaque. She has been worked with at home for regular teeth brushing to remedy this condition. She may possibly need a dental cleaning in the future. Rajah is good about using her 2 litter boxes, although she has been known to urinate in empty cardboard boxes if they are left out. Keeping boxes put away alleviates this behavior.

We think Rajah would find her happy place as an only pet, in a quieter household. We recommend Bengal breed experienced adopters that are home most of the time to interact with her one on one. She will be shy at first, so might need a little extra love, patience, understanding and coaxing. Knowing that she is food motivated will be a plus toward building her confidence to trust and love a new person.

Rajah is a lovely exquisite purebred brown rosetted Bengal, a breed known for bonding to 'their person' with love like none other. For those of us who have them, there is nothing quite like being owned and trusted by a Bengal. They are a one of kind breed, best suited to dedicated owners that will interact from a basis of love, play and devotion, providing them with the stimulating enriching environment they thrive in. Rajah's Purebreds Plus volunteer contact is an experienced Bengal owner and behaviorist who will be able to answer your questions to help determine if beautiful Rajah could be a good fit for you.

Rajah is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet food, and is litterbox perfect.

She currently lives with her owner in San Rafael.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Rajah please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Pam at cheemers@gmail.com or 541-290-8408. If you are unable to reach Pam please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Additional adoption info

READY TO ADOPT?
The first step in the adoption process for your new kitty is to submit an adoption application. The second step is to contact the foster home listed on the specific cat(s) or kittens you are interested in to find out more. Are you adopting a kitten? Kittens do best when they have a friend or two to grow up with! Kittens who grow up with another feline friend tend to be well-behaved, well-adjusted, and overall happier. Purebred Plus Cat Rescue kittens are typically adopted as pairs or as a single kitten to homes with an appropriate feline playmate. If you prefer only one kitten, we strongly encourage you to consider one of our wonderful older kittens or young adult cats that are available!

Go meet their pets

Our cats are neutered or spayed, vaccinated and FELV/FIV tested. We are not a shelter. All of our cats are fostered in private homes. The whole goal of the adoption process is to ensure the cat or kitten is a good fit for you, the adopter, and your environment. We are looking for the best fit NOT first come first serve. We always focus on what is the best for the cat or kitten.

When you adopt from Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue, you are saving TWO lives - the cat you adopt and the cat who gets to take its place in rescue!
