My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

#A5650596 Muffin truly lives up to her name! She is such a sweet treat, with a gorgeous cinnamon streusel coat and a warm and soft playful personality that would make her the perfect companion for any family. This darling girl loves, loves, LOVES, balls, and is SO good at chase and fetch. She even does the cutest thing - dropping the ball right at your feet, then pawing at it to show you it’s there, so she can get you to pick it up and throw it for her all over again! In addition to being a tasty treat, Muffin likes treats herself, which could be good motivation for additional training. Come check out this fetch champion and sweeten up your life today!

  • 5 year old brown and black German Shepherd

  • 40 pound spayed female - but poor Muffin is a bit underweight, with her ribs showing, so she could use some hearty meals and extra TLC!

  • Up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, Muffin may have a tummy bug, which the shelter is treating her for, so she will have to be adopted on a health waiver - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and treatment

  • Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 9/5/24 as a stray

  • Incredibly playful - LOVES balls and playing chase and fetch; is even good at bringing the ball back to you - totally a fetch champion!

  • Knows lots of commands - sit, shake, stay - and likes treats and takes them gently - could learn more training with the proper motivation!

  • Shows clear signs of potty training

  • Medium energy level - the perfect balance of enthusiastic and laid back

  • Interested in other dogs - may bark, but easily redirected

  • Pulls a bit on leash, so could use more leash training to be her best self!

More about this rescue

United Hope for Animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to creating a world where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion and responsibility. We actively work toward bringing an end to the needless suffering of companion animals through community-based programs here at home and across the border.

The United States euthanizes more than one million dogs and cats each year. Through our Shelter Support Program, we work in partnership with local shelters to reduce this number by raising public awareness about shelter adoption and facilitating rescue and adoption of sheltered animals. In the process, we bring dignity and hope to the many lives that would otherwise pass anonymously through the animal control system.
