This helps Partnership for Animal Welfare, Inc. with pet care costs.
Lucie is a lovely 46 pound, seven year old pointer mix. She had been living with a family for the last four years, but sadly her adopter became quite ill and could no longer care for her. This sweet girl is used to living in a home and doesn't know why she is in a kennel. She is housebroken, friendly with other dogs, and enjoys getting out for walks. As a senior she is not overly energetic - she still enjoys walks but is easily able to settle down in the house and relax and snuggle with her people. Lucy really needs a soft place to land - someone who is going to enjoy her companionship for the rest of her life.
Sweet Lucie is generally easygoing and will make a wonderful companion in an adult home. She would do best as an only dog and prefers to be cat free. She can be possessive of objects, and needs her person to respect that and not try to take things away from her. This was managed for 4 years in her adopted home with no problem. We think Lucie would do best with someone with experience with dogs.
