My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This darling little angel is named Mama Lana! She’s a perfect companion pup, good on leash and great in her crate, with so much love to give. Lana is incredibly loyal to her favorite people, and friendly as can be with new friends!

We think Mama Lana is a pit bull mix of some sort, with booty wiggles and big kisses to verify her pittie lineage. We estimate her age to be around 2 years old. She currently weighs in around 47 pounds, the perfect size for couch snuggles.

Fall in love with Lana here: https://youtu.be/ELUWNXsNLKo?si=IP_hV3L5HH0cqv9r

Lana is a love bug to her core, so warm, welcoming and incredibly loyal. She’s very quiet and calm about her affection, perfect for just about any family. She’s good and quiet in her crate here at the rescue, but always excited for a moment out of her crate, and around humans! She’ll greet you with excitement, kisses and tail wags when you open her crate door, and she’ll allow you to put her leash on with ease.

Lana is dog friendly! However, she has a bit of a complicated relationship with other dogs, she is currently on a healing journey after limited socialization in her younger years. Lana shares treats and affection well with other dogs. She doesn’t bark, lunge, or growl at other dogs when she passes them on leash, she’s great at coexisting with other dogs in play-yards, but direct interaction can sometimes cause her some anxiety, preventing her from playing and causing her to act fearful around the other dogs. To address this, our behavior team is facilitating more healthy interactions with other dogs, by way of integrating her into supervised play groups. In a home, slow introductions are advised, and our behavior team will be available to advise you further!

Lana is a credit to rescue dogs everywhere. She is great with people. She’s gentle and snuggly, and has great house manners. She knows “sit” already, and she’s so food motivated and eager to please, further training will be enjoyable and rewarding! Lana is a dream on leash, and considering her people-oriented social skills and her manners, she will be an easy dog to take out and about! Take Lana to a park, patio restaurant or dog friendly cafe, and watch her find friends in every stranger. Lana greets “her people” with so much adoration, recognition and affection. This precious little angel is a pro snuggler too!

Lana’s perfect home will have at least one loving human to call her own, and she’s not too picky about the rest. She is quiet, calm and well behaved in her crate here at the rescue, and could likely thrive in an apartment. Daily walks or a few quick backyard play sessions are all she’ll need to stay happy and healthy.

Mama Lana is a gorgeous, loving girl with a truly beautiful life ahead of her. With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Lana with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
