My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lana oh Lana, there are so many wonderful things about this sweet girl that there are not enough words to describe how amazing she is. Her love is out of this world! It radiates from her, wherever she goes. We try not to describe a dog as perfect but there is no better way to describe her. Love extends from every fiber of her body. These are the direct words from a 3 year old, “I need someone to adopt her, any family, you’re going to make someone so happy.” We can guarantee that you’ll be smiling within the first few seconds of her video. If you don’t believe us, watch her video and see for yourself.

Fall in love with Lana:
https://youtu.be/aOQS_Adpm0M?si=OZro0tILkv10SZni

Are you smiling after watching her video? Good, because that was the goal! Her video is just a small glimpse as what your life would look like by adopting Lana. It honestly doesn’t even do her justice because her drive for love and affection goes so much further than a 6 min video. Lana is a love bug to her core, so warm, welcoming and incredibly loyal. She will need some time to decompress once she arrives at her forever home but once she’s warmed up and get adjusted to her new environment you’ll be gaining the love of your life. Lana is a pittie mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 47 lbs. She is the perfect size, not too big, not small, just the right size. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.

Lana is undoubtedly a family dog. She lights up around people, especially around young kids. We really believe Lana was born to be your kids dog. Lana is so very gentle with young kids. All the way from taking treats, to giving them kisses, and to jumping on the couch next to them. She is gentle! Kobe who is 3 years old is our dog-kid tester here at the rescue and he has met hundreds of dogs of all sizes and personalities and Lana was by far his favorite dog and that’s saying a lot. Kobe is an expert at this, so take his word for it. Not only was Lana very gentle with Kobe, but she was also very patient and tolerant with him. She was not phased by him hugging her, leaning on her, touching her paws, grabbing her tail, standing above her on the couch. She was simply happy to be there and happy to be making him smile and laugh. If you have kids, there is honestly nothing better than hearing your little ones get those deep belly laughs and watching them be so happy around your other baby - your fur baby. Lana extends this type of affection to adults as well, not just little ones. She is a people’s dog through and through. Her only goal in life is to love her family and to make them feel loved. She is affectionate with everyone she meets.

Lana is naturally a calm, quiet girl and there are a lot of options as to what kind of home she would do best in. Lana is a dream on a leash, and considering her people-oriented social skills and her manners, she will be an easy dog to take out and about! Take Lana to a park, patio restaurant or dog friendly cafe, and watch her find friends in every stranger. She can live in a home with a big backyard or she can live that apartment life too. Although she is young, she doesn’t require much exercise and will be happy with a nice walk around the neighborhood or exploring the backyard with you. We would love to see her in a home with kids because she loves them so much and so great with them but she would be just as happy if it were just the two of you as well. She is a snuggle bug too! Which means she’s great to have around for those lazy sundays or gloomy rainy days. Lana will snuggle in bed watching movies all day with you if you let her. We can also see her being a great work from home buddy. She has great house manners, doesn't get in to things that she isn't suppose to and she loves to play with stuffy toys and can keep herself entertained if need be.

Lana is dog friendly and has the sweetest goofy play style with the right dog. She loves dogs that have the same energy and play style as her. Which is very goofy, submissive, gentle, light hearted, not too rough, and will engage in a cute game of chase. She gets the cutest wiggly butt when she’s playing and does this bounce along chase thing when she runs alongside another dog. Lana also likes when other dogs give her space when she needs it and appreciates when they can simply hang out around each other and not play all the time. If you don’t have another dog, that is completely fine too. She does not need the company of other dogs to make her feel comfortable and open up. She has enough love and affection for 2 dogs combined. In regards to feline friends, she would do best in a cat free home as she showed too much interest in our house cat Tom. If Lana is to be adopted out with another dog, she will need slower introductions and time to decompress around her new doggie siblings just like she will need time to decompress upon arrival.

Lana is a gorgeous, loving girl with a truly beautiful life ahead of her. With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Lana with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
