My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pesto is a total lovebug with the cutest tippy taps and wiggles when he's excited! He's super easy to leash, patiently waiting with soft eyes and tail wags, and has no issues getting in and out the door. On walks, Pesto likes to show off his great leash manners.

Pesto greets everyone with full body wiggles and adorable snorting noises, leaning in for pets and even spinning in circles to soak up all the affection. He's playful, engaging in games, and loves toys!

This affectionate, fun-loving boy is ready to find his forever family and charm them with his wiggles and sweetness!

Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Pesto at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.

9/2/24 volunteer notes: Per Volunteer: For such a young dog, pesto is so chill and easygoing. He was easy to leash and walked without any problem through the kennels. He seems to be dog friendly and didn't have any issues with a dog who was coming in while we were going out. Pesto didn't pull at any point and was just so easy to handle. This little guy is definitely treat motivated and I think butt scratches are his favorite thing in the world. He also takes treats very gently. On the way back he was great while a potential adopter stopped to talk to us and pet Pesto. He waited patiently while we spoke for a minute then headed back to his kennel. It was such a pleasure meeting this sweet pup for the first time and I hope he finds his forever family soon!

Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 17,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.

In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions. ACCT Philly also supports a foster care program where community members provide temporary homes for sheltered animals and one of the (if not THE) most extensive rescue partnership program in the country where approved rescue partners accept ACCT Philly animals into their adoption programs.
