My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Clarence is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. Please email adopt@calgaryhumane.ca if you are interested in scheduling a meeting. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as Clarence is not available to meet on site.

**Clarence is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**

Age: 2 years
Weight: 21.6kg / 47.6lbs

A bit about me:
- unknown history with kids; interactions should be supervised
- unknown history with cats; slow, supervised introductions needed
- unknown history with dogs; okay pending successful introduction

Clarence came to Calgary Humane after he was found as a stray. He loves to get cuddles and attention and has been a friendly and treat motivated boy in shelter. Clarence is still working on his basic training and may also need some support gaining confidence with indoor dog skills like car rides and stairs. As a supportive tool, CHS is offering 3 free consults with our Behaviour team to help Clarence settle into his new home. As a young, active dog, he will benefit from humans who can keep him busy with plenty of mental and physical exercise. Come see Clarence today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
