Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
**Clarence is a Patient Paw, who has been available for adoption since September 26, 2024. Please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**
Age: 2 years Weight: 21.6kg / 47.6lbs
A bit about me: - unknown history with kids; interactions should be supervised - unknown history with cats; slow, supervised introductions needed - unknown history with dogs; okay pending successful introduction
Clarence came to Calgary Humane after he was found as a stray. We have since learned that he is a high-energy boy who loves to split his time between play and rest (whether it be snuggles or resting on his bed). He is a very treat motivated boy, which makes training somewhat easier, though he has shown that he does well playing with a flirt pole as well. Clarence is still figuring out some basic training including leash skills, stairs, and settling for longer periods of time. He seems to really benefit from someone getting down to his level to give some pets. As a supportive tool, CHS is offering 3 free consults with our behaviour team to help Clarence settle into his new home. As a young, active dog, he will benefit from humans who can keep him busy with plenty of mental and physical exercise.

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
