A22285 Dexter is a white and black colored, approximately 3-year-old, 49- pound, neutered male, Husky mix.
He entered the shelter as a stray on 09-25-2024 and was altered by our medical staff.
Dexter is a friendly, calm boy here in the shelter. Our staff says he was shy at first, as he figured out the shelter environment, and now is at the kennel door when you approach and excited to see you. They say he is a friendly, well-mannered, good energy boy who will make a great family pet. He has had some training and will "sit "come "stay and "down upon command. He was easy to leash, well behaved and listened great during our walks. He has a friendly interest in other dogs here. Dexter will be a loving loyal companion in his new forever home.

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
