Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET BABY DOG. SHE IS AN EXAMPLE OF A PUPPY GIRL THAT NEVER REALLY GOT A GOOD CHANCE. HERE IS HER SHELTER STORY:
Our next #DoginDanger at Habersham County Animal Shelter is Baby Dog.
Baby Dog first darkened our doors 132 days ago. She was called in for Animal Control to come pick up after she had decided to take up residence on someone’s porch.
She was PETRIFIED of people and had to be caught in a live trap. She was pretty scary when she came in to be honest.
She earned her name while we were trying to coax her out of the trap with our coos of “who’s my little baby dog”
We quickly figured out she had a pretty serious leash aversion- but was more than happy to follow us awfully through the kennels to her new “bedroom”. After a few weeks she started to trust us some and would allow us to leash her to come outside to play.
She was briefly adopted and then soon abandoned by her so called new owner when they moved out of their apartment and left her behind. Roommates ended up bringing her back to the shelter after two weeks with no return contact from her person.
Baby Dog has no serious issues- but a few “quirks” which have prevented her from finding a real family.
She can be a brat and will literally flop herself on the floor in a temper tantrum tantrum to avoid coming back indoors after a walk. 🙄
She perfers to sit in chairs over the floor. 🤷♀️
She can be mouthy when trying to get her way (usually when her leash is being taken off after a walk)
Her side eye game in her kennel is strong- which creeps people out. 👀
Like a lot of us, she may take a minute to warm up strangers.
The best parts of her:
She’s not clingy. She’s an independent chick!
She doesn’t resource guard anything!
She gets along with most dogs
Her short spurts of zoomies are super cute!
Great leash walker (minus tantrums haha)
Not a loudmouth
Baby dog is almost 70 lbs (she’s put on some weight on lockup) and about 2 years old.
The shelter is PACKED and our “Baby Dog” needs someone to bust her out of this place and show her what a real home and love is like!
ALL of theses dogs are currently in a high kill shelter in Georgia and need to catch a ride to Wisconsin on 10/26/24 in order to be safe!
