My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chloe is a sweet 8-year old female American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV after hours on May 3, 2024 along with her best friend (Joker). They were taken inside the shelter by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff and our HSOV Executive Director shortly after their arrival. Thankfully a note was left with Chloe and Joker which gave their names and ages.

Chloe has a tan short smooth coat with a patch of white on her chest, white toes on her paws, a long tail, and a beautiful face with brown 'teddy bear' eyes, black shading on her muzzle, and short semi-erect ears.

Chloe has a friendly, easygoing personality.

These updated photos were taken on September 21, 2024 when HSOV Volunteer Jennie Payton Sherrard accompanied Chloe for outdoor glamour pictures and to show off her new figure.

Chloe was a very large girl who weighed 117 lbs when she entered our shelter on May 3, 2024. Thanks to our HSOV Kennel Techs who helped Chloe count calories on a good nutritional dietary program (and a great exercise program thanks to kennel techs and volunteers), Chloe currently weighs 73 lbs. She looks (and feels) like a different girl these days.

Chloe has recently participated in off-site events and has done well with other dogs and children. Her claim to fame is that she has “perfect pitch snoring” when she takes power naps during those events (Smile).

Chloe’s adoption fee has been sponsored, and she would love to be in a home again with a family of her very own. Her best friend Joker found a new home on July 26, 2024, so Chloe is hoping that someone will make her an offer she can’t refuse (a fabulous home).
