My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Aero!! This little guy is super fun and loving. He's a great little guy that loves attention and cuddling. He can be shy at first and then he is wide open love and fun. Aero has had quite the adventurous week. He was taken to a shelter in NC and was not a fan of being restrained by strangers for his vaccines. He did not bite anyone but he was very spicy and uncooperative. This caused him to be put on the Rescue only list. His time was up in 2 hours when we saw his post but we had no way to make the drive to get him in time. Thankfully an amazing team of volunteers were able to grab him from the shelter and fly him here, yup you read that right. Aero got his name from taking a short plan ride to us. He did excellent on his flight and arrived here without any issues. After picking him up from the airport we took a little detour to Dodge's chicken on the way home. You guessed it, his love can be bought with delicious fried chicken. He spent the rest of the evening here running around the yard playing and being a happy carefree boy. He needs a little time to adjust to new people and surroundings but he is a very sweet boy. Aero is a male, 4 year old, Jack Russell and Chi mix best guess. He weighs 9 pounds and should be full grown. He is neutered, microchipped and recently updated on his vaccines. He is also Heartworm negative. Aero is a very sweet and loving dog. He loves to be wherever you are. He also loves the outdoors. He enjoys lots of playing and running but also loves cuddle time. When he is outside, he is much more active and he is calmer inside. He really likes to be lounging wherever you are. He's a good mix of energy and relaxing. He does need proper exercise and when given that he has been well behaved. He has done well with other dogs of all sizes and loves having a playful dog of any size to run around the yard with. He can be a bit snarly at the initial meeting if the other dogs get into his face right away but after a few mins they are best friends. He just needs to see they won't hurt him. He's never met cats so we do not know how he would do. He is fostered with a child and does really well. Children in the home just need to be old enough to give him some space the first few days and not treat him like a toy. Aero has done really well with potty training. He's been great on car rides and excellent on airplane rides as well LOL. He does pretty well on a leash but does a little excited pulling here and there. He is crate trained but will bark and whine at first while he is learning your routine. He wants to be with you and can be a little vocal about it. Covering his crate with a blanket helps and once he learns the new schedule he settles down. He has not had any issues sharing food, treats or toys with people or other dogs. He can definitely be a little difficult at the vet. He gets scared when being restrained by people he does not know. He did well with being wrapped in a towel at our vet to get his last shot and his nails clipped. Otherwise he has not tried to bite or even growl at any of the people involved in his rescue. Aero really is an adorable little guy. He needs time to see you are safe and they he is your best friend. He loves getting all the pets and hanging out with you. If you are willing to give him a little time to settle in you will be getting a very fun, loving and loyal companion. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or message us on our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.
