Hello, I'm Periwinkle, a young soul full of life and joy. I may be a little shy at first, but don't let that fool you. Once I get to know you, I'm the most loyal friend you could ever ask for. We can spend hours playing with a simple ball of yarn, or just sitting quietly together. I'll always be there, purring softly, showing you how much I appreciate your company. I'm looking for a forever home that will have the patience to allow me to come around on my terms and when I blossom, a home where I can share my love and loyalty. Adopting me means gaining a companion who will cherish every moment with you.

The Stone County SPCA was organized in 2009 and opened a shelter in 2012 in Wiggins, MS. We have always been a no kill shelter. Our biggest challenge is the high demand to place dogs and cats in our shelter. Currently, we take in approximately 1200 animals annually. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We have a live release rate of 95%. We do this by keeping adoption fees low and transporting a large percentage of our animals (65% of our dogs and puppies).
