My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jessie James !!
Him and his two brothers are part of our Outlaw Litter. They are some of the sweetest dogs we’ve taken in!! Really amazing dogs. (His brothers are posted separately)
As a rescue we would like to politely request that breeders stop “doodling” everything 😫 These sweet dogs are overbred for profit but end up almost dying in shelters way too often.
Jesse is an approx 3 year old, male Basset Hound and Poodle mix. He weighs 43 pounds. He is low, long and solid. He got the regular style hair so it’s hard to see the mix in him.
He will be neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of his adoption. He is thankfully Heartworm negative. He came to us with severely overgrown nails. We have been cutting them back slowly but it takes time. He is very good about it though.
Jesse is an awesome family dog. He has a sweet and loving personality. He’s a very good boy. He loves attention. He can be a bit clingy and needy. He will follow you everywhere.
He is fairly easy to have around the house. Settles in quickly and just enjoys being part of the family. He loves going on walks and adores cuddles.
Jesse does great with other dogs of all sizes. He is even great with the Foster’s senior Dachsund. He has been fostered with cats and completely ignored them. He will initiate playtime with the dogs and likes having a pal around.
He absolutely adores kids. He will sometimes jump up on people to get love. His foster is working on that with him. It’s possible he may accidentally scratch or knock over a small child but nothing aggressive or intentional.
Jesse is crate trained and rides well in the car. He loves walks and does well on the leash. He’s done fabulous with his potty training. He marked his territory once when transitioning into his foster home but has not done it since. So far we have seen no issues with him sharing food, treats or toys with humans or other dogs.
He has a medium energy level. He matches the energy of the home. He loves to run in the yard and will play with others but isn’t overwhelming with his exercise needs. As long as he gets some exercise each days he’s very relaxed. He also loves to cuddle and snuggle.
Jesses foster had this to say about him: “Jesse is the sweetest boy. He wants nothing more than to just be loved. He listens very well. He is such a love bug and would be a wonderful family dog!”
Overall he’s a really good boy that is ready for his new family to love.
Vet and home checks required.
Located in Hampton VA.
(He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius)
