This helps Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc. with pet care costs.
The Rise of Bendu…..
This scruffy looking little nerf herder was scratching out a meager existence in Florida.
Being a runt, under fed, bullied, living outside 24/7, took its toll on his immune system and skin.
He and his litter mates used an old Jedi mind trick to convince their humans to reach out to MAD. This Rescue Alliance jumped in, got them vetted and got them all placed in foster homes.
This is where the rise of Bendu begins….
Bendu might be a Malinois/GSD mix. He has spots! He is working as a dog walker’s apprentice currently. This requires him to be social with other dogs, good on a leash and a good car rider. His past bullying has made him become a bit reserved when first meeting new dogs. In his 2 weeks as an apprentice though, he’s met over 15 dogs and had no issues except some barking if he’s a little uncomfortable and will stop if asked to or once he’s comfortable again. He’s surprisingly good on leash. Also rides well. He’s doing well with his apprenticeship so far.
After getting dewormed, 2 weeks of better nutrition and an overall better situation, his skin is starting to recover from demodectic mange and new fur is coming in.
His foster peeps consist of 3 dogs, 3 dog savvy cats and a human. Gets along with all of them.
He seems to be on the low end of the drive spectrum, so far, and does well in a crate. He also does great in his kiddie pool!
His limited interactions with humans has made him a little shy upon meeting, but treats bring out his curiosity. He’s working on his human world manners and expectations. Still working on mastering house breaking. Does very well with holding in crate and car. He has shown real good dog world manners, communicates well, takes corrections well, plays well with others.
Will you be the last episode of his Rise trilogy, so he can be the best dog he can be?
