How Wednesday arrived:
Wednesday was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
Wednesday has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for her new home!

Why Wednesday is the one for you:
First, let's deal with the name. Officially it is Wednesday but unofficially it is Peanuts to his foster family where he is living and thriving. We'll go with Peanuts. Peanuts had a medical issue which we have taken care of and is now behind her.. Peanuts has a preference for being the only dog in her home, you might call her a bit of a diva. Her foster mom describes Peanuts as a cuddle bug who loves frequent and long petting sessions. If you stop petting before Peanuts is ready, she will put her paw on you to continue. If you ignore that, she will rollover for belly rubs. It is hard to ignore that and who would want to? Most of all, she loves to cuddle with her people. She is a lover, not a player as she ignore her toys but loves her soft blankets. Her foster family describes her as calm, gentle, happy and cuddling. She is house trained and does her business while on walks. She is easy to leash and walk but prefers not to meet other dogs while walking. We said she was a diva. Are you looking for a really big cuddle bug who wants to be your one and only dog? If so, contact us and we will make arrangements for you to meet Peanuts who will want to meet you. .

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
