My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The snuggliest sweetheart, the most pettable boy with the goofiest little grin, meet Charlie Bear! Cat-tolerant, dog-friendly, great on leash and sooo respectful, Charlie has lots to brag about.

We think Charlie Bear is a pit bull mix of some sort, around 3 years old. He weighs in at a huggable 55 pounds. Charlie is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed.

Watch Charlie here: https://youtu.be/bmwwKqR_y-c?si=V487PQ7v0a_AdQOk

With new humans, Charlie is so warm and loving. We’re confident that it will be love at first sight for Charlie when he meets his forever family! He’s a total social butterfly and a lover to his core. He is a huge fan of people and all of the luxuries that a loving human can entail for a rescue dog like Charlie! He’s a little spoiled by his foster family, a connoisseur of table scraps, cheese, and prime pets. He’s a total couch potato too, a mellow good boy, that absolutely deserves all of the spoiling he can get. He loves to snuggle, and follows his foster mom around the house all day, laying at her feet whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Charlie will fit right in in just about any animal lover’s home. He’s great with other dogs, here at the rescue he was friendly with all of the new dogs he met. He is currently fostered with a 10 year old female pittie, and does well with her. She isn’t very playful, and he’s respectful of that, mostly steering clear of her, but occasionally attempting to initiate play. Charlie would do well with a moderately playful doggy sibling to keep him company. Charlie is also fostered with four kitties, and very avoidant of them. He’s intimidated by their murder mittens, jumping out of the way whenever one veers too close! Charlie is cat-tolerant and could live with dog-savvy kitties.

Charlie is great on leash, and a total adventure dog. He loves walks and car rides, and considering how friendly he is, he would do great as your little “go anywhere” dog. Take Charlie to the beach, the park, or your favorite patio restaurant and watch him steal hearts! He’s quiet and calm in his crate too, he may protest the end of playtime when you initially put him in his crate, but after a few whines he settles for a nap. His foster mom reports that he is fully house trained!

Charlie’s perfect home would have at least one loving human to call his own, a couch for her to snuggle on, and lots of cheese! He is quiet, mellow and good in his crate, and could likely thrive in an apartment. Charlie could easily coexist with other pets, or thrive as a solo-dog, soaking up all of your affection.

Charlie is such a sweet, obedient, friendly and relaxed dog. With any questions, please reach out to his adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Charlie Bear with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
