My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miko! We call him the little sweet man here because he is such a doll! Miko has a unique face with a large under bite that gives him the cutest smile. Miko has had more then a few homes in his life at no fault of his own. He can be a little unsure of brand new people but once he gets to know you he will be your best friend! He has lived with another small dog and cats though he isn't so sure about big dogs and is a bit scared and can be reactive towards them. Miko is waiting for a dental surgery as he needs for teeth removed. We are unsure of his age but know that he still has quite the pep in his step. He loves getting out for walks and playing with his stuffies. With his scruffy hair do he is sure to steal your heart!

Due to Miko's medical campaign, and need of dental surgery, he is looking for a foster-to-adopt family. Please apply online if interested in adoption!

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort
