Matcha is the friendliest and sweetest girl you'll ever meet. She's quick to discover her surroundings, wanting cuddles and pets as soon as she meets you.
Matcha is a special needs cat as she is blind, which means she'll need some time to memorize her surroundings before she can comfortably navigate them. Because of this, Matcha isn't the biggest fan of being picked up but that's mostly because it makes her lose track of where she just was!
Matcha loves hanging out in the same room as you and might occasionally take a seat on your chest when you're on the sofa to get in some cuddle time. Otherwise, she's a big fan of snuggling up on a pile of blankets or pillows. This girl loves to be cozy. Matcha also loves playing, especially with any type of movement under blankets that she can chase. She also prefers toys that make a bit of noise, but nothing too loud please!
When she's is in a new space, it really helps if you introduce her to her litter box, food dishes and toys so that she knows where to go and find them. If you move items around, just make sure to reintroduce her to them and show her their new location. She has great litter box habits, but may occasionally only be able to partially cover her business up, but she works very hard and does her best to keep her litter box neat and tidy!
When navigating spaces she'll often use her nails, but she means no harm! She just uses them as sort of a safety net to make sure she's got a good grip on the places she's exploring so she doesn't take a tumble. When she gets super excited she may occasionally run into things so just be careful and cautious she doesn't bump her head. Because of her blindness, Matcha can also be sound sensitive and might unexpectedly jump when she hears a new noise. Although this does cause her eyes to go super big which is very adorable.
Matcha is a very well-mannered, sweet, and loving cat who is so excited to meet her forever family and navigate her new surroundings!

Additional adoption info
Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).
This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!
Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
