Itzee came to NorthStar along with Gracie & Remington as part of the Freedom 3 from a breeding facility.
Here is what Itzee's foster mom has to say about her:
"Itzee has been with us for about a month now and she thinks it’s about time I tell her story. She came to us a scared little girl from a puppy mill. We promptly addressed a number of things and she is now spayed, has had 28 teeth removed (leaving her with 8) and is on meds for ear infections. Her ears are improving but it’s likely she’ll need to be on meds for a while. I think her hearing is now improving. She’s just a peanut of a girl, weighing 8 pounds, and could stand to gain about 2. We’re currently feeding her kibble that we’ve pureed in the blender but she does like chewing on bones occasionally.
Itzee is mostly potty trained. She has no problems going to the door. She has occasional accidents in her kennel though because she’s scared. We give her free reign for a few hours at a time and we’re working up to more. As her confidence improves, so will her house training.
We’ll be looking for a forever family that can continue to work with Itzee to overcome her fear of people. She’ll need a lot of patience and a lot of love. She’d do just fine with a friend or two, canine or feline, but it’s not necessary. Helping puppy mill survivors can be an incredibly rewarding experience. You’ll never know greater love. They know what you’ve done for them and, when they’re brave enough, they’ll thank you for it on a daily basis.."
Itzee is UTD on vetting. Her adoption fee, including MN state taxes, is $321.83. She is available to adopt within a 50 mile radius of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/Saint Paul.
Itzee's adoption is pending, we are no longer accepting applications for her.
