My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Carly the wonder-dog! She’s an athletic one year old, 53 pound super-dog who’s soulful eyes and charming personality will quickly win over your heart.

Carly is tall, lean, and highly athletic, and like any good super hero she can leap over tall buildings in a single bound. Okay, so maybe that’s an exaggeration, but she can definitely jump low fences. Her athleticism and energetic personality make her the ideal dog for a family that enjoys outdoor activities. If you need a running or a hiking partner - Carly is your girl! She’d also be perfect for people who enjoy taking long walks or are interested in a dog who would be a good fit for agility training.

Carly loves her food and treats, and her food motivation comes in handy by making training sessions easier and more enjoyable for both her and her future family. She has already mastered the sit command, is house-broken and crate-trained..

She is a friendly and social dog who loves to make new friends (especially with other dogs who are excited to meet a super-dog).
She is the type of dog who will quickly bond with her new family.
While she is not sure about cats yet, she is currently being fostered with two cats at home. They are afraid of her, so she has not had a chance to interact with them.

Carly is looking for a loving, patient family that will appreciate her affectionate personality and give her the attention she deserves.
The best home for Carly will have a fenced-in yard where she can safely run, play (did someone say FETCH???), and burn off her abundant energy.
She will do best with an active family that will include her in their outdoor adventures and take time to play with her.
If you have another friendly dog at home - all the better as Carly would be thrilled to have a canine companion with whom she can share her life.

Carly’s journey has been one of love and resilience. She comes from a home in Texas where an elderly woman, despite battling terminal cancer, cared deeply for her and her siblings. Though the lady could no longer care for them due to her illness, she wanted to make sure that Carly and her siblings would find loving homes. When she first arrived she was underweight and covered in fleas when she arrived at her foster home, but thanks to dedicated care, she has blossomed into the happy, healthy dog she is today.

She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and is currently being fostered in New Jersey. Once you meet her, you’ll see why she’s so special.

If Carly is the perfect addition to your family, don’t hesitate to fill out an adoption application. She’s ready to meet her forever family and begin the next chapter of her life with you!

More about this rescue

Friends for Life Animal Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, volunteer-run, foster-based Rescue (no facility).

Our focus is to save the lives of dogs and puppies in high-kill shelters in the south and local owner surrenders.

Our mission is to place unwanted and in-danger animals in homes, regardless of age or breed. To educate the public and help stop animal cruelty and neglect.

We don't discriminate against potential adopters on any basis or for any reason. We approve potential adopters if they are and the animal they applied for is a good fit.
