My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carly is a darling little chihuahua mix puppy. She was born around 4/15/24, is currently 7 lbs and expected to be 10-12lbs full grown. We would love to try to find a home for her and his brother, Cash, together, but if not she will need a playful pooch to romp around with.

Carly is affectionate, cuddly and playful. She loves to romp around playing chase and tug with her dog buddies. She truly enjoys the swim pond on warm days. She will splash and play in the water, is a good little swimmer and likes to float on a raft. She loves her stuffed toys, anything with a squeaker and snuggly beds.
Carly is crate trained but has always been crated in the same large crate with her brother Cash. She is doing well with house training and is beginning leash training. She can be shy with strangers but has shown she will warm up with slow introductions.
She becomes attached to her humans and likely would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. She likes to be a large part of her family’s life and enjoys being included in daily activities. She will happily follow her humans around the house and yard. In the evening she likes to cuddle on the couch with her people and dog buddies.
She currently lives with dogs of various ages and sizes and does well with them. She seems to do best with playful small dogs or friendly, medium and large dogs who won’t bully her. She also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them but she might challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Due to her small size young children would likely overwhelm her so only dog savvy children over 12 are recommended. She is an alert barker and loves a yard so no apartments for her.
Carly would do best with someone who understands the training and energy needs of a young puppy. She would like a yard and a friendly, playful dog companion to romp around with, help show her the ropes and keep her company while her humans are away from home. Carly is a sweet little puppy who is a joy to foster and is patiently waiting for her forever home.

Our Mission Statement...
Sacramento Independent Animal Rescuers is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Our purpose is to aid stray, abandoned, and neglected animals. In addition to animals rescued and adopted by our organization, SIAR is also dedicated to help other independent animal rescuers find their foster animals the loving homes they deserve. To date, thousands of dogs and cats have been rescued and placed into wonderful homes in the past few years. In order to provide these services, we work with the community shelters, rescue organizations, and individuals who have animals with special needs and place these animals in permanent homes after they reach a stage of wellness.

Our mission is to provide loving, permanent homes for animals that have been abused, abandoned, or lost, which otherwise would not be with us today. Many of our rescued animals, especially those that were rescued from the shelters initially had kennel cough, pneumonia, or giardia with the extreme cases having the parvo or distemper viruses. In addition, a high percentage of animals are malnourished and require special dietary demands. We rely on tax deductible cash donations as well as food and other pet supplies that will allow us to continue to save lives!

**** WE ARE IN GREAT NEED OF DONATIONS AS MANY OF THE ANIMALS WE RESCUE HAVE COSTLY MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND ARE CONSIDERED NON ADOPTABLE AT THE SHELTERS - WE HOPE TO GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE AT A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE****

All of our companion pets, have been neutered or spayed, given all current vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped. This also provides the community with healthier animals and aids in the reduction of the outspread of illness and future homeless offspring.

The adoption fee for animals being adopted by SIAR can range from $75-$100 (for kitties) and $150-$350 (for dogs) depending on the animal and associated costs. The adoption fee helps up recooperate the thousands of dollars spent yearly on rehabilitation and allows us to continue to rescue animals in need.

Please be sure to click on the animal you are interested in. The corresponding biography will let you know which rescuer you need to contact to learn more about that wonderful pet.

Disclaimer: Due to the limited time spent with the rescued animals, Sacramento Independent Animals Rescuers is not responsible for the health, behavior or temperament of the animals listed or adopted by this group.
