My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I have lived with cats.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I am playful and cute!

I have feline leukemia and am living my life to the fullest!

I am FIV+ and am enjoying a healthy, full life!

Noir tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Noir may be intimidated by small children, any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.

A volunteer writes: Noir's a happy guy and why wouldn't he be? He's good natured and easy going with a style all his own as he stretches out for pets. Sleeping in the back of his condo when I visited, Noir leaped onto his cubby when I opened the door. He peered down at me curiously and waited. I hoped he wasn't waiting for me to leave, but all I had to do was offer a pipe cleaner feather and Noir hopped down in a spirited fluff. Pouncing around with his cheeks perfectly puffed, Noir burrowed and bounced, trotted and waved after his toys. I loved playing with him but was equally as delighted when Noir stretched himself out into my arms, cuddling and reaching his paws out to knead the air. Now, while many cats do this, Noir stretches out like it's his job and the most important one in all the Care Center. Noir has lived with other kitties and has been described as a friendly, gentle, and affectionate lap cat. All he needs now is to meet you!
