Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Alacazam entered Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray, and when he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on September 25th. He is a young Frosted Face at only 6 years old, weighs 14 lbs., and is very sweet & lots of fun! Alacazam is the perfect balance: he loves walks and is up for any adventures, but he's also happy to cuddle on the couch at home!
Alacazam is currently on an extended Frosted Fling, and we are learning so much about him and what he is like in a home environment. His Fling Mom reports:
"This little guy has a big personality! Alacazam (we call him Al) is very intelligent, energetic, and entertaining. We laugh a lot with this character in the house. His adorable face with those big eyes and underbite makes him hard to resist. He loves to cuddle and likes to be near us most of the time, following us around the house.
His mobility is great. Al jumps onto the couch with ease and walks across the back of it like a cat. We think he would be good at agility and so much fun to take through classes.
Al sleeps through the night. We set him up in a gated area at first and he would settle right in when we told him it was bedtime We do let him sleep in our bed now, which he loves.
Al is okay being left alone as long as he doesn't have access to tissue or other paper products he can shred. He really loves to do that even when we're home.
Al loves food! He is on a diet and thankfully will eat green beans as treats. We add them to his meals to help him feel full with less calories. We're working on his manners while people are eating and when cabinets are opened. His love of food makes it easier to teach him things. He's a fast learner and seems quite proud of himself when he gets things right. It's super cute!
Al is speedy and will dash out doors if given the opportunity, so we've been working on sit and stay. He's doing great with that, but his new family will need to continue practicing it.
Al gets along great with our dogs, although sometimes he doesn't understand the concept of personal space with them. He doesn't like to share his food, so we feed him separately. He would also probably eat his food quickly and then raid the other bowls if we didn't."
Alacazam is a very smart cookie who has learned some inpressive new skills in his fling home! He knows how to do "recall" two different ways and responds to "here" and "touch". He boops my nose against their hand and then finishes it off with a nice "sit". Good boy, Al!
Alacazam is ready for his forever home! To meet this special boy, please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org.
