My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you senior dog savvy? Home most of them time? Curly Jane, or Carly as her foster family calls her, may be the girl for you! 12-year-old Carly is friendly girl that loves her people so much she prefers to be with them as much as possible. If you work from home or are retired, she would love to be your companion.

She came to us after her elderly owners went into a nursing home, and she faced euthanasia as there was no one else to take her. A concerned acquittance intervened and reached out to us, and we took her into the rescue.

Curly Jane's owners loved her dearly - we have vet paperwork from her exams every year, and she is getting the best kind of dog food. We believe she also got some table scraps and a bit too much food, so she ended up very overweight. Weighing in on 25 pounds, he needs to lose at least 7 more pounds, so we are looking for an adopter that can take her on several small walks a day as she builds up endurance. She also needs her food measured out, and her foster family has worked to stop her begging for table scraps. An adopter absolutely must commit to continue her weight loss journey with her - all that extra weight is making her arthritis worse and making her heart have to work extra hard. She is eager to exercise - she wants to go on walks and even runs sometimes! We want her to live the best quality of life possible.

She is fixed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, had full bloodwork, and will have a dental cleaning done by our vet prior to adoption.

Go meet their pets

We are a small rescue without a facility so we rely on volunteers to temporarily house the animals until adopted. Because the animals are in private foster homes, we need to make arrangements for a visit to happen. Please email us for further information. Additionally, we have adoption events throughout the year - check out our Facebook for a current listings. We do private adoption visits with approved applicants.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding homes for their pets. Since we help people receiving hospice care, heading into nursing homes, or families after the pet owner died, we often receive older animals. WE value older animals and cherish all that they can offer to their new family. We do not have a physical facility, so we rely on volunteers to foster the pets in their home until they are adopted.
